How it all began! /Amman Newborn photographer/

My interest in photography started around the time I started university, I was studying interior design and one of the required courses was photography…I started just like everyone else, photographing everything within view…I was using an old film camera at the time and I had a lot of dramatic, tear filled moments when photos came back terrible after taking the film to be developed….it really wasn’t a rainbow beginning!

Fast forward a few years to when I had my first job at a small interior design firm….I took a photography course at Darat Al tasweer (I highly recommend their courses) and I finally felt like I understood photography after years of struggling with the basics and not getting anywhere!

Eventually I got fired from my first Job, yes …fired! I realized then that I never really wanted a fixed job….I always sought freedom, I always loved the idea of working for myself and freelancing…So I did two things, first I kept taking photography courses for fun…Second, I got a more flexible job, which paid by hour and helped me to eventually fund my photography dream…

After completing a couple of courses, I started to think about starting a photography business photographing children in a unique way..I have always loved children and and I felt I had found the perfect blend of all the things I loved: Creativity, art, freedom and working with children;I was on a mission!

I started practicing on people I knew…friends’ children, Family members, I read and studied everything that I could find on the subject and soon, I felt like I was ready to start!

A few months after that, My first child was born…Faris! I had my business plan in place and started officially when he was just a few months old, I just couldn’t wait any longer! After photographing 3 or 4 newborns (mostly for friends) and sharing the images , most of my inquiries were for Newborn sessions! So I learned as much as I could and became Known as a newborn photographer, this was in 2011…let me tell you, newborn photography wasn’t really a thing in Amman back then…but I’m so proud that I was the first to specialize in this genre locally and I am now part of a group of newborn photographers in Amman who I greatly admire!

*The business name has recently undergone a change, from Blue Shoes photography to Welight Studio! Just in case you were confused!!!!
